About the program

In 2017, Dr. Baumel started utilizing medical scribes in his practice.  His medical scribes are typically premedical students with an interest in pediatrics.  They accompany him to every visit, record the note and interact with patients.  They get to know the families very well and become an integral part of the care team.

The scribe program is a win-win-win. I love that I can pay full attention to my patients, the patients and parents appreciate that as well and my scribes get invaluable clinical experience as they start their medical careers.

"I am looking forward to gaining deeper exposure to pediatrics and broadening my clinical experience across diverse patient populations through this scribe program with Dr. Baumel!"

I love working with Dr. Baumel! I learn so much from him and his interactions with families. It gives me a behind-the-curtain look at what it might be like when I complete my own medical training! This experience has truly inspired how I see myself practicing as a pediatrician.

Parents appreciate the Scribe Program

Dr. Baumel and his scribe are excellent. Having a scribe allows for in depth conversations in which he's looking at us the entire appointment. Not taking notes. It's very refreshing and appreciated!
D.V. Mother of 8yo patient
Dr.Baumel and Sara always treat my daughter as a unique and special person who has their full attention. They care very much about her well being and strive to make her feel comfortable as possible.
S.O. Mother of 11 yo patient
Dr. Baumel, his scribe Sara, and the nurse who helped us were all professional, extremely knowledgeable, and caring.
I.G. Mother of 13 yo patient
I particularly really appreciate Dr. Baumel's scribe program. Dua is amazing and it really also allows Dr. Baumel to really focus on my child and have a conversation with us versus focusing on taking notes. It allows him to be very present and engaged and you can tell he's just an absolute professional and knows his stuff. So we feel very, very lucky to have him as our pediatrician.
